If you are ready to inspire the next generation of Jewish learners, we want to welcome you to our amazing team of educators! Community Synagogue of Rye, a leader in innovative learning, is searching for a creative and engaging educator who will bring their passion and love for Jewish learning to the 4th grade in our Center for Jewish Learning (CJL). CJL educators, with the support of the clergy and lay leadership, work as a team to engage learners and families in joyous, experiential Jewish learning. We believe that all meaningful learning happens in the context of relationships, so a priority goal at the CJL is creating a welcoming environment to foster relationships and build community with and among our learners.
The 4th grade educator will:
• Plan and facilitate engaging Torah, Israel, and holiday learning experiences
• Collaborate with other educators for special events and family learning
• Build relationships with learners and parents
• Be responsible for administrative requirements such as regular e-mail communication, lesson plans and progress reports
• Attend in-house professional development workshops
• Meet with the CJL director as needed
The ideal candidate:
• Creative, engaging, passionate about Jewish education, and a team player.
• Has experience working with children in a Jewish setting (school, camp, or youth group)
The CJL offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Community Synagogue is located in Rye, New York a suburb in Westchester. It is accessible by the Metro North, New Haven line. A subsidy is available for travel expenses.
